Allie Horick
Allie Horick is an interdisciplinary artist and educator living in her hometown of Nashville, TN. She holds an MFA in visual art from Watkins College of Art at Belmont University and a BA in environmental arts and humanities from Sewanee: The University of the South. Horick’s work explores relationships and loss, both familial and ecological, that reveal entanglements between ourselves, others, and the more-than-human world. Working with a range of materials including soil, beeswax, wood, sawdust and found photographs, she is drawn to material as a means of deepening meaning and the materials she uses guide her practice. Her work not only explores loss but is often also an act of mourning in itself.
